Glen Arden is in the midtown area of Wilmington. It is just off of South Oleander Drive and borders the lovely Forest Hills neighborhood. Most of the homes here were built in an era of architectural integrity and it shows! Although the styles may vary, many of the properties are a testament to fine craftsmanship. From Colonial to Georgian, Williamsburg and mid-century, these properties have stood the test of time.
The genteel character of Glen Arden is readily apparent thanks to the neighborhood’s established landscaping. Old South plantings, formal gardens, quaint walkways and thoughtful touches explain why it’s a regular stop on the Azalea Festival garden tour. The residents of Glen Arden are a nice blend of young families, working folks and retirees. Although it is located in midtown, Glen Arden can be a private and peaceful oasis. It is also convenient to everything that’s anything, including historic downtown to the west and Wrightsville Beach to the east-both are less than 10 miles away.

Since the neighborhood grew over several decades, the average square footage varies from home to home, with the range typically being 2000 to 3000+. Glen Arden is considered one of the Port City’s original prestigious subdivisions. Many properties here have been well cared for and frequently updated and renovated. Interiors are often solidly built and feature stunning hardwoods, unique fixtures and classic floor plans that include plenty of room for entertaining. There are also nice outdoor spaces in the way of courtyards, patios and porches. Some of the larger homes in Glen Arden have sold close to the $500,000 mark, however, the average sales price is closer to the mid $250s (subject to change).
