As one of the most conveniently located neighborhoods in the Port City, College Acres is also one of the most popular. It is comprised of a nice mix of rental properties and private homes. Tidy yards and compact, neat brick ranches, Cape Cods and condos certainly create a cheerful vibe. Residents are a mix of young families, professionals, students, retirees and professors and somehow it all works!
The two main thoroughfares of College Road and Eastwood Road border College Acres. Market Street is also just minutes away and leads straight into midtown and historic downtown Wilmington. Because it is tucked away from those main streets, College Acres residents can easily enjoy instant access to all the local points of interest without having to fight the traffic. The shops and dining establishments along Racine Drive are within easy walking distance as well. Eastwood Road is considered the main route from the college area to Wrightsville Beach. Thanks to the Cross City Trail, folks in College Acres can even get there on two wheels!

In College Acres home prices often ranging from around $200,000 to the mid $300s (subject to change). Square footage is typically from 2000 to 2500. Many College Acre properties have detached garages and fenced in backyards, which is a big plus for those with kids and pets. Although there are no community-wide amenities, College Acres borders the campus of UNC-Wilmington. That makes getting on campus to concerts, plays, special events and movie nights at the Fisher Center super easy! As for green space, the Bluenthal Wildflower Preserve is in the middle of campus and the perfect spot for a nature stroll or picnic.
