Rivers Edge is a community in the center of Wilmington, near the Pine Valley community, that can be accessed off Independence Boulevard and Windchime Court. Centrally located, Rivers Edge is just ten minutes from Carolina Beach or Historic Downtown Wilmington and its magnificent Riverfront. The neighborhood is bordered by a tributary creek extending from the Cape Fear River and Echo Farms Golf course.
The entrance to Rivers Edge features a large divided median lavishly landscaped. Crape Myrtle trees border the sides of the road with River Birch trees mingled among street lights in the center median. A good many of the homes in Rivers Edge are marsh front, overlooking portions of the tributary creek.
There are several sections of homes within Rivers Edge, each with distinct characteristics. Homes situated on the first part of Windchime Drive and those along Longmeadow Drive are slightly larger than the homes in other sections and tend to be two-storied. This area of Rivers Edge is populated with mature Pines, and this section borders Echo Farms Golf course, a semi-private course designed by Ian Scott Taylor.
Rivers Edge is made up of many sections, some named some not. Yorkshire Village at Rivers Edge is a section of homes that are primarily patio homes with brick veneer and horizontal siding exteriors. Another section, Brookridge at Rivers Edge is home to smaller houses with smaller lawns with brick veneer exteriors highlighted with decorative garage windows.
The homes in Rivers Edge vary in square footage from 1200 +/- to 3000+/- square feet of living space and vary in price according to what size and style you choose. The architecture within Rivers Edge is traditional with mature landscaping throughout. Rivers Edge was built between 1998 and 2011.
New Hanover Regional Medical Center is within five minutes, the University of North Carolina at Wilmington is six miles away, and Wrightsville Beach is a quick drive.
